We are all shaped by our upbringing, experiences and environments and when we get the opportunity to learn more about the intimate details and experiences our parents have had, we are able to humanize them and recognize that the term” parent” does not mean “perfect”

When we decide to see our parents as humans who have needs, desires, struggles. And traumas, it can be a window into understanding their personal makeup.

Parents are fighting struggles that impact their well being and sometimes their ability to be the best parent.

When parents and adult children make space to hear each other’s experiences, it leads to healing and deeper intimacy within the parent-child relationship.
